Zoya's Meadow & Richelle

I recently took advantage of one of Zoya's promotions and got myself some free polishes! I ordered Richelle and Meadow. I'm pretty happy with them. I've already tried out Meadow, and unlike Shay, I've gotten minimal bubbles, so yay for that. I have to say, the package took a while to get here. And it came in a box that was unnecessarily large and filled with packing peanuts! Are those even biodegradable? And the peanuts were white, which usually means that they've been made from virgin resin, instead of having been made from recycled materials. This may seem irrelevant, but I was just a bit surprised to see that Zoya, which is vegan friendly, big three free, and does a yearly earth exchange, sent me a big ol' box filled with packing peanuts. Tsk tsk. Anyway, I suppose I'll post pics soon. Or not soon haha. I'm avoiding polish at the moment because my nails are hella stained. So pics once that's cleared up. Toodles!

Awesome Collaboration!

So lately I have been thinking of who would make an awesome musical collaboration. And I have come up with the perfect pair! Corinne Bailey Rae and Robin Thicke! Ms. Bailey Rae is an amazingly talented soul singer, and Robin Thicke has quite the range of voice. Check it:

Closer by Corinne Bailey Rae

Rollacoasta by Robin Thicke ft Estelle

Um, tell me you do not see the magic! It would be an amazing explosion of awesomeness. Forreals forreals.

In other news about crazy amazing collabs, I hear Janelle Monae & Bruno Mars are going on a tour together, entitled Hooligans in Wondaland. What whaaaat?? Janelle Monae and Bruno Mars in the same place? At the same time?? The awesomeness will not fit in one place. I wanna gooooo. Like, who doesn't have a concert in DC or Baltimore? Yeesh. Check out Billboard for more info about the tour. Welp, thats about it. Who would be in your dream collaboration? Let me know!

Chewing and chewing all day long...the way that a cow does!

Hello! So the other day I was watching Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory, and it dawned on me that there are some horrifying scenes in that movie. I bring it up because I was chewing some gum at work (not like a cow. At least I hope not!) & the Oompa Loompa song about Violet Beauregarde popped into my head. Over all, it was a good movie, but it has some serious potential for scarring people! Do you disagree? Maybe you don't remember this part:

Round the world and home again, that's the sailor's way
Faster faster, faster faster

There's no earthly way of knowing, which direction we are going
There's no knowing where we're rowing, or which way the river's flowing
Is it raining, is it snowing, is a hurricane a–blowing
Not a speck of light is showing, so the danger must be growing
Are the fires of Hell a–glowing, is the grisly reaper mowing
Yes, the danger must be growing, for the rowers keep on rowing
And they're certainly not showing, any signs that they are slowing!

Eep! Is the grisly reaper mowing? Do I look like I wanna know? I think if I were on that ride, I'd cry. Just a little bit. Also, creepy Mr. Slugworth?

Yeah... Has anyone read the book? Was it this terrifying? I have trouble believing that Roald Dahl could write this. Anywho, it was quite a fantastical move with many lessons to be learned:

  • Don't be gluttonous and Greedy like Augustus Gloop, lest you should fall into a river of chocolate
  • Don't be an annoying brat like Veruca Salt, wanting everything you see, unless you also want a  good kick in the pants
  • Don't be like Violet, chomping on your gum... it's triflin'...
  • Don't watch too much TV! You saw what happened to Mike Teevee. Read a book!
  • And I think you will all agree when I say the most important piece of advice is to not get into paddle boats with strange men. Forreals ya'll.
P.S. Another movie with some scary scenes is The Wizard Of Oz. Flying monkeys? Really?
